In some branches of spiritual work, there are animals that are your spirit animals, there are animals that are your familiars and some that are your soul animals. You have many soulmates, not all are romantic. Some are family, some are animals, some may be a partner, however they are much different than a twin flame, your other half.
Maya is my soul dog, probably my familiar as well. Maya's story goes back to April 2007. May seem silly, but it will make sense later. That year, I found Moe, our baby boy, a beautiful Rottweiler. We had just lost our previous amazing Rottweiler Austin. Our blue heeler Missy was very sad missing Austin, and by accident I found Moe. They loved each other dearly. Moe was one of my soul dogs. He protected my girls and I. He was always with me, sitting at my feet. I could see all his emotions in his eyes. In December 2010, Christmas Eve to be exact. My Nonno passed away. That same day, we found our first bulldog Lillie (named after my grandma who loved bulldogs). Lillie had bulldog attitude but was a beautiful soul. We lost Missy September 2011 at 13 years old. Missy was my beautiful mama. She loved our cats Oscar and Pecan and Moe, as if they were her babies. November 2012 my oldest found her little lady Sophie, an adorable puggle, also with tons of attitude. She and Lillie had many disagreements. June 2015 I lost my boy, my soul dog. After the devastation of losing Austin to the recalled dog and cat food from 2007/2008, and then missy, this was a huge blow. I did everything to help that boy. I was heartbroken. Why I think he left us, Sophie and Lillie finally got along and loved each other. Cuddled together, didn't fight again. However, Lillie had cancer and we lost her 2 years later, In June as well. Again, I did everything I could to help her. Sophie was devastated and so lonely. AND then I found Maya. This beautiful olde English bulldogge was born in September just like Sophie, she was able to come home to us on Lillies birthday October 25th, and she has Moe's eyes. Lillie and Moe brought her to me. She is my soul dog, she is my familiar, she has been with me through the hardest time of my life. She is my baby, my heart and soul..... to be continued...
